The rout of risk and the opportunities it presents

The last lunch before the summer break will be a Halkin Roundtable lunch at 12.30pm for 12.45pm on Wednesday 20th July 2022 at El Vino, Blackfriars.  It will be around the theme “The rout of risk and the opportunities it presents”.

The discussion will be introduced by Ariel Bezalel, head of fixed income strategy at Jupiter Asset Management, Mike Orme, founder of Signum Intel, a technology consultancy, and Charlie Morris, CIO and founder of Bytetree International.

Ariel Bezalel started his career at Jupiter and has been a member of the Fixed Income team since 1998 and a fund manager since 2000. He is currently Head of Strategy, Fixed Income and manages the Jupiter Strategic Bond Fund (Unit Trust) and the Jupiter Dynamic Bond fund (SICAV). Ariel has a degree in Economics from Middlesex University.

Mike Orme is co-founder of Signum Intel and Senior Consultant at Global Data, Thematic Research Division. Signum is a research boutique that works with global fund managers to search for tomorrow’s stellar companies in a world that is being reshaped and revamped by step-changing technologies in genetics, deep learning, generative design, additive manufacturing, nanomaterials, stored energy and collaborative robotics.

Charlie Morris is the chief investment officer at ByteTree Asset Management (BTAM) and founder of ByteTree.com, an ambitious blockchain 2.0 software project to provide real-time economic statistics and data from blockchains. He has 23 years’ experience in fund management at HSBC Global Asset Management, Newscape and Atlantic House, building a reputation for actively managed, multi-asset portfolios, with an emphasis on efficient diversification and risk management. Charlie also writes the Fleet Street Letter.
