Charles M. Hale received a B.S. degree with distinction from Stanford University (1957) and an M.B.A. degree from the Harvard Business School (1963), serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy in between. He joined Becker in 1971, heading the London office, after being a partner in Hirsch & Co. in London for some eight years. In 1983, Charles left Becker to become a partner for a short time in Lehman Brothers, and then joined Donaldson Lufkin as Chairman of DLJ International. With the merger of DLJ into Credit Suisse First Boston in 2000 Charles became Vice Chairman of its European operation based in London. He joined Polar Capital Partners, Ltd. in 2002 as Executive Chairman.

Ariel Bezalel has a degree in Economics from Middlesex University started his career at Jupiter and has been a member of the Fixed Income team since 1998 and a fund manager since 2000. He is currently Head of Strategy, Fixed Income and manages the Jupiter Strategic Bond Fund (Unit Trust) and the Jupiter Dynamic Bond fund (SICAV).

Alexander Chartres joined Ruffer in 2010 after graduating from Newcastle University with a first-class honours degree in history and politics. In 2012, he became a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. An investment director, he specialises in geopolitics and its investment implications, with a particular focus on European and Great Power politics. He is a co-manager of the LF Ruffer Total Return Fund.
