Edward Chancellor is a financial historian, journalist, and investment strategist. His books include “Devil Take the Hindmost” (1999), “The Price of Time” (2022), and “The Making of a Permabear” (2026), written with Jeremy Grantham. After reading history at Cambridge and Oxford, he worked at Lazard Brothers and until 2014 he was a senior member of the asset allocation team at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. He is a columnist for Reuters Breakingviews, and has written for the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and the Times Literary Supplement.
